[Press Release]
Placerville, CA – Today Assistant Assessor Danielle Yandow announced her candidacy for El Dorado County Assessor in the June 7, 2022, election.
“For the last 16 years, I have had the privilege of serving the public on behalf of the Assessor’s Office. I am looking forward to using my knowledge and expertise to help the department grow, provide continuity in the change of leadership, while maintaining the impressive standards of public service that have been a hallmark of the office for decades” Yandow said.
She began her career with the Assessor’s office as a technician; later, she was promoted to Auditor-Appraiser and then to supervisor. She now oversees the day-to-day operations at the office as the Assistant Assessor. Additionally, she played a key role in the conversion to a new property system in 2018, and now manages the implementation and development of that system. Presently, she is leading property tax relief efforts for properties affected by the Caldor Fire.
Yandow holds an Advanced Property Tax Appraisal certificate from the State Board of Equalization, as well as an associate accounting degree from American River College. Before joining the Assessor’s office, Yandow served in the private sector in accounting and business administration roles. She is also a former real estate licensee. Yandow feels that it is this combination of experience and education that allows her to not only provide knowledgeable public service and accurate assessments, but also lead the department in a fiscally responsible and efficient manner in the face of current and future challenges.
Danielle is a proponent of Prop 13’s landmark protections for taxpayers. She also points out that property tax laws are complex and constantly changing. “My experience allows me to offer comprehensive information so property owners can make informed decisions and maximize their property tax benefits. I will also ensure accurate property tax administration so schools, fire departments, cities, and other agencies that rely on property taxes to provide services to residents in El Dorado County will benefit”, said Yandow.
Danielle has the support and endorsement of retiring Assessor Karl Weiland. According to Weiland, “the Assessor’s first priority is to serve the public. It was for Assessors before me and still is today. I know it will also be for Danielle, and that is why she is the best choice to be the next El Dorado County Assessor. Please join me in electing her.”
Other endorsements and supporters include former Assessor Tim Holcomb, community members, former and current coworkers, and colleagues.
Danielle married her husband Russ in 2004 and they moved to Pollock Pines in 2005. In her spare time, she enjoys beading, gardening, traveling, and camping.
