PLACERVILLE, Calif. — On Saturday April 23, 2022, at 6:47 PM the Placerville Police Department call center received a report of a collision on eastbound Highway 50 near Broadway Drive involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. Officers responded to the scene of the collision and located a 2015 Jeep Cherokee and a 1995 Harley Davidson, which were involved in the collision. It was determined that the motorcycle had two passengers at the time of the collision, and they were both located in the roadway.
The passenger of the motorcycle, 60 year old Lori Hooper of Pollock Pines, CA, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision by personnel from El Dorado County Fire. The driver of the motorcycle sustained major injuries and was flown by helicopter to Sutter Roseville in critical condition. The name of the motorcycle driver is being withheld at this time.
The driver of the Jeep Cherokee, 47 year old Aaron Folmsbee of Cameron Park, CA was located on scene when officers arrived. During the preliminary investigation it was determined that Folmsbee was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. After infield tests, Folmsbee was arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Causing Bodily Injury and Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated.
Folmsbee’s bail was set at $175,000.
