A Sept. 13 fire that destroyed a Lupin Road house in Sierra Springs left Theresa Whedbee and her daughter Amie, a single mother of five, without a home.
The Whedbees are now scattered. Amie told the Mountain Democrat four children are with her at a hotel in Roseville while Theresa is staying with a friend in Placerville. The fifth child has been staying with his dad, as he was the night of the blaze.
