Nonprofit organizations are welcome to apply to multiple grants so long as:
- The nonprofit is in good standing with the IRS, SOS, and DOJ (AG)
- The organization qualifies for the grant cycles. Please read all requirements carefully!
- The non-profits directly serve El Dorado County Residents (please read specifics with each grant being offered)

Endow ED Capacity Building Grants
The ENDOW ED CAPACITY BUILDING Grant Application is open to all nonprofits serving the residents and communities of El Dorado County who have completed the capacity building classes put on by EDCF this past winter (2022). This year, our grant focus is changing to help nonprofits with capacity building, and thus this application will be for a two-year grant with site visits for its recipients. Organizations will be able to apply for $25,000 to $50,000 for the 2022-2023 year and if capacity building is successful as determined by the site visits the funding will be extended for the 2023-2024 year. The GIVE Tahoe 2022 Grant Application supports two different aspects within the South Lake Tahoe Area: Community and Education.
The Community Grant is open to all nonprofits, agencies and schools serving the residents and communities of South Lake Tahoe. Proposals of up to $5,000 will be considered. This grant does not have a specific focus allowing the opportunity to respond to our most important needs.
The Education Grant supports nonprofits, agencies and schools providing educational enrichment to SLT students within either Lake Tahoe Unified School District or George Whittell High School and Zephyr Cove Elementary School. The Veterans Grant program supports operations, programs, or property improvements/repairs that support the veteran community at large. Grants are available in amounts up to $10,000. The application deadline is 11:59 pm May 19, 2022, funding will be provided August 2022. Applications are reviewed and grants awarded by the County of El Dorado Veterans’ Affairs Commission. Friends of Seniors, a fund of the El Dorado Community Foundation, will be awarding a total of up to $15,000 in grants to El Dorado County nonprofits that support the wellness, life enrichment, dignity, and independence of Seniors (60+) residing on the WESTERN slope of El Dorado County.
All applications are due by 11:59pm Thursday, May 19, 2022. Grant recipients will be notified in June. If your organization received grant funding from Friends of Seniors in 2021, you are not eligible to apply again until 2023. Hearts and Minds Grants are already open…until May 2, 2022
The Hearts and Minds Grant Mission is “To provide students in El Dorado County with technology and tools necessary for success in the 21st century with an emphasis on vocational education and hands on experiences for youth on the Western Slope.” This grant is open to schools and nonprofits serving Western Slope public schools in El Dorado County. This grant is for “student-used” technology. Licensing Fees will not be funded with this grant. Grant applications of up to $2,500 will be accepted.
