Gun Owners of California Campaign Committee (GOCCC), has announced their endorsement of Jeff Leikauf for Sheriff in El Dorado County. Leikauf currently serves as a Lieutenant in charge of Western Slope operations for the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
“It’s important that we elect leaders like Jeff Leikauf who understand our Constitution and the true intentions of our Founding Fathers”, explained Sam Paredes, Executive Director of Gun Owners of California and longtime resident of El Dorado County, “Jeff understands that the amendments added to our Constitution in the Bill of Rights are individual safeguards put there to give us protection from an overreaching government.”
Having served for 32 years with the Sheriff’s Office, Leikauf is a family man and deeply rooted in El Dorado County. “He and is a true defender of the Second Amendment,” continued Paredes, “and Gun Owners of California looks forward to working with him.”
Gun Owners of California was founded by Senator H.L. Richardson in 1975. Gun Owners of California Campaign Committee is the nation’s oldest political action committee dedicated to the defense of the Second Amendment and the preservation of shooting sports.
The deadline to return ballots is Tuesday, June 7.
