PLACERVILLE , Calif. — BLM-Sac will protest because the Murder suspect is not allowed to have 5,000 pages of trial information in his cell.
BLM Poster writes, “Harvest Davidson was Denied the right to have paper discovery in cell because ‘Judge Kingsbury said it would be a FIRE HAZARD !!'”
They go on with, “After 5 1/2 yrs DA[sic] Casey Mandrel wants to offer Harvest a deal & take him to trial without a full discovery? Over 5,000 pgs of discovery have been missing until Civil Rights Groups have gotten involved. NOW 5,000 pgs have appeared with STILL missing DISCOVERY. Its against the law to offer Harvest a plea deal, take him to trial and suppress evidence. Dec 17, 2021 Harvest will have served in county jail 70 months which will be PAST Time for the maximum time the DA was offering him.”
Charged with three (3) counts of Murder and one (1) count of drug-related robbery, BLM-Sac poster asks, “How can a first time offense receive MAXIMUM TIME AND 2 STRIKES”
The Davis Vanguard reports of the December 22, 2021 BLM-Sac protest:
“A small demonstration was held at the El Dorado County District Attorney’s office in Placerville for Harvest Davidson, who has been awaiting trial for a 2016 incident, on Monday. Davidson is charged with two counts of robbery and a murder charge for a 2016 marijuana deal turned into a murder involving several other people according to court records.”
El Dorado County Deputy attorney [sic] Casey Mandrell has requested the case go to trial several times this year. Most recently on December 7, 2021, despite thousands of pages missing the discovery file”
After Betty Williams, President of the Sacramento NAACP called Attorney Gable, he was then given the majority of the missing discovery.
Gable was unavailable for comment and his investigator, Lisa Gara, said the council has no comment when asked for an update on the case.
Soon after his arrest in 2016 the Tahoe Daily Tribune’s Adam Jensen wrote:
“Two men suspected in the January shooting death of a 40-year-old man outside of the Beverly Lodge have pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the case.
“During a Monday, March 21, arraignment in El Dorado County Superior Court in South Lake Tahoe, Tristan Batten, 18, and Harvest Davidson, 20, entered not guilty pleas in the Jan. 30 death of Dennis Wright, Jr.
“Wright, who traveled to South Lake Tahoe to sell 100 pounds of marijuana, was shot multiple times during an attempted robbery, according to South Lake Tahoe police. Wright died after being taken to Barton Memorial Hospital.”
# Lead prosecutor is Deputy District Attorney Casey Mandrell of El Dorado County.
