RESCUE – Surrounded by family and friends at a packed event in Rescue, Jon DeVille, announced his candidacy for El Dorado County Assessor at his campaign kickoff event. DeVille, who has been the Chief Fiscal Officer for Sheriff John D’Agostini, was pleased to have the Sheriff in attendance to help make the announcement official.
“Jon DeVille has been a valuable asset to my team since 2013. Because of people like him, I have been able to provide top quality services to the people of El Dorado County.” Sheriff D’Agostini continued, “I know first hand that Jon is very good at what he does and I know when it comes to the taxpayer, he will be meticulous with his oversight. Jon is exactly who we want at the helm ensuring people are fairly assessed. And he will fight for us when tax policy is debated at the state level.”
DeVille holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Menlo College and a Master of Business Administration degree from San Francisco State University. He also brings a unique blend of both the private and public sector experience to the race.
“As someone with experience in both fortune 100 companies and for our Sheriff, I pledge to bring a new set of eyes to the Assessor’s Office. I believe constant evaluation is a must and we can always do better when it comes to protecting taxpayer dollars. Ensuring fair and accurate property assessments with a dedication to customer service will be guaranteed under my leadership.” DeVille said.
The Assessor position is one of only three Constitutionally elected offices in El Dorado County. DeVille has laid out a platform for what he plans to bring to the office including: Fiscal Responsibility, Care for Seniors, Customer Service, Rural Representation and a Fresh Perspective.
DeVille, an El Dorado County native and Oak Ridge High School graduate, concluded saying, “I am excited and invigorated at the chance to be a leader for a county I love with all my heart. It would be an honor to have my fellow neighbors vote.”
DeVille has already garnered numerous endorsements from local elected officials including, Sheriff John D’Agositini, Auditor-Controller Joe Harn, District Attorney Vern Pierson, Former Supervisor/Retired Fire Chief Brian Veerkamp, and Supervisor John Hidahl. Jon is honored to also have the support from many in the business community including Ronald J. Mittelstaedt (Waste Connections Inc.), Marcos Gomez (Mountain F. Enterprises Inc.) and Christa Campbell (Rainbow Orchards) to name a few.
The current El Dorado County Assessor has indicated he is retiring. The election will be June 7, 2022.
