* When my mother got pretty old she moved to Quartzsite Arizona. She hated the Dessert. I asked why and she told me she was “tired of everyone honking at me here and everyone drives bad [‘like crap’] in Quartzsite!”
I then found out that Senior drivers have more accidents than teenage drivers!
I know that taking a lic away is like taking freedom away, but there comes a time. This driver did not intend any harm but the driver and the victim will never get over this accident.
If you know a senior driver, even your own parent, that is no longer a safe driver… Step up and do something even if it is a report to DMV, EDSO, CHP.
They will almost certainly hate you for it… but here is an example of what can happen even with the most careful driver when age has taken it’s toll on their driving skills, and vision, and response time…
Simply ride shotgun and if you get scared… Do something.
