Big Brothers and Sisters have an opportunity to directly impact the life – both present and future – of a child. As a mentor to Little Brother Zamani, Big Brother John is no exception.
Zamani is 12 years old. His dad isn’t in the picture, and he lives with his mom and four brothers and sisters. Zamani is very shy around other kids and struggles in school, but he has a real gift for music; singing and playing the guitar. And he loves to serve others. Zamani has a big heart.
John and Zamani do lots of fun things together, such as hitting a bucket of balls at the driving range, swimming, and playing with John’s dogs. Sometimes they’ll ride bikes, catch a movie, go to church together, or go to the snow. John also helps Zamani with his school work. Recently John mentored Zamani through a science project. Zamani received an A and was very proud!
