Planners in El Dorado County are beginning environmental review for what would be the county’s first Costco Wholesale Corp. store.
County spokeswoman Carla Hass said planners have deemed complete an application submitted earlier this year for a store in El Dorado Hills on Silva Valley Parkway. …
Such a project may also face heightened scrutiny from county residents concerned about traffic impacts. Similar concerns led a developer to scale back a proposed retail development at a nearby Highway 50 exit in El Dorado Hills.

According to plans filed with the county, Costco would be a 151,074-square-foot store with 762 parking spaces.
More than 200 of those spaces would be in a below-ground parking area.
The proposed Costco also appears to have a gas station, though it’s not clear how many pumps that station would have.
