El Dorado County, California (March 1, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol has identified 64-year-old Norm Dillinger of Somerset as the driver who sustained serious injuries following a traffic collision that happened in El Dorado County on Friday evening.
According to a local news source, the major injury crash took place at about 6:55 p.m. on February 28, along Grizzly Flat Road.
The accident involved a Toyota Corolla driven by Dillinger north on Grizzly Flat Road and a Volkswagen hatchback operated by 17-year-old Citrus Heights resident southbound on the highway.
The Volkswagen reportedly crossed into the opposite lane and struck the Toyota, causing it to spin out of control. Due to the impact, the rear end of the Corolla ultimately hit an uphill dirt embankment on the right shoulder of northbound Grizzly Flat Road.

Dillinger sustained major injuries following the wreck. He was rushed to Marshall Hospital but was later transferred to another hospital.
The Volkswagen motorist was not injured in the mishap.
The investigation is underway.
