We will be holding the Special Meeting of the Board of Supervisors regarding Vacation Home Rentals on Wednesday, May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at South Tahoe Middle School.
At this time, the Board will be looking at eight revisions to the current Ordinance:
1) Restructure the violation and penalty provisions;
2) Clarify the language throughout the Ordinance;
3) Require exterior signage;
4) Cap on the number of occupants during quiet hours;
5) Expand the Ordinance to apply countywide;
6) Require inspections prior to permit issuance;
7) Review County VHR Functions; and
8) Bear-resistant trash receptacles.

Agenda Item Chief Administrative Office, recommending the Board: 1) Conceptually approve amendments to Title 5 – County Business License Ordinance of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code, Chapter 5.56 – Vacation Home Rentals in the Lake Tahoe Basin; 2) Direct staff to work with the Vacation Home (VHR) Rental Ad Hoc Committee and return to the Board on May 22, 2018, with the following: a) Introduction (First Reading) of a revised ordinance that incorporates as many of the conceptually-approved amendments as feasible; b) A timeline for inclusion of any remaining conceptually approved revisions; and 3) Discuss the proposed calendar/workplan for the VHR Ad Hoc Committee.
