Jan. 6, 2020 (SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.) – High stepping fun returns to Camp Richardson Jan. 18 as amateur contestants strap on snowshoes and try their luck in the resort’s annual snowshoe cocktail races. This three-part series held on the beach in front of the Beacon Bar and Grill tests participants’ balance, speed, and agility as racers, cocktail trays in hand, navigate through obstacles, and up and down the beach.

The winner is the fastest and driest at the finish. Spill your drinks and you lose. For their efforts, competitors can win prizes that range from snowshoes and dining certificates to equipment and marina rentals. Registration is free for multiple race categories and signups start at 5 p.m. at the Beacon Bar and Grill. Races kick off at 7 p.m. www.camprichardson.com

Parts two and three in the series are scheduled for Feb. 15 and March 21. The resort is pairing the races with a lodging special that includes one night in the Beach Side Inn or Historic Hotel for just $95 and includes a $25 certificate to spend on breakfast at the General Store. The offer is valid for stays Jan. 18, Feb. 15, and March 21.
