Hass, EDC Department of Public Health]<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(PLACERVILLE, CA) \u2013 El Dorado County was the first of two Counties in the state to receive the go- ahead today from Governor Newsom to move fully into Stage 2 of reopening when the California<\/p>\n<p>Department of Public Health (CDPH)\u00a0<a>published<\/a>\u00a0the County\u2019s Variance Attestation letter. This allows all businesses included in Stage 2 to open as soon as they have their plans in place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a good day for El Dorado County, its residents and its economy,\u201d said Board of Supervisors Chair, Brian Veerkamp. \u201cWe\u2019re very happy for our business owners, their employees and patrons that we are in the front of the State\u2019s approval line so they can reestablish their livelihood and return to some semblance of normalcy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Public Health Officer Dr. Nancy Williams submitted the County\u2019s Attestation letter and supporting documents on Saturday, May 9th demonstrating that the County meets the criteria to fully reopen the businesses and facilities listed in Stage 2. CDPH needed to post the letter online as the final step to approval for early opening, which it did this morning, as well as publishing guidelines for this full phase of Stage 2 business and facilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs soon as businesses and facilities have implemented a safety plan reflecting those guidelines, they can open,\u201d said Williams.<\/p>\n<p>The businesses and industries that may open in El Dorado County immediately upon having implemented their safety plans include (links to the State guidelines):<\/p>\n<p class=\"rteindent1\">&#8211;\u00a0<a>Dine-in restaurants<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<a>Limited services<\/a><em>(laundromats, dry cleaners, other laundry services, auto repair shops, car washes, landscapers, pet grooming, and dog walking)<\/em><br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<a>Outdoor museums<\/a><br \/>\n<a>&#8211; Shopping centers &amp; all in-store retail<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<a>All office-based workplaces<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<a>All manufacturing industries supporting retail<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0<a>All logistics industries supporting retail<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; Stage 1 Sectors<\/p>\n<p>In a press conference today, Governor Newsom said this list may be periodically expanded if the State Public Health Officer deems it to be in the interest of public health and safety.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carla B.
