Senors, Disabled, Sickly, and those with young children are reported to be afraid to go to the stores for basic needs.\u00a0 Fear from the Corona Virus has caused hardships that are hard to see. It matters not if fear of catching the virus is well-founded or over-hyped as the effect is that many of our community members are not going out to needed food stocks and other\u00a0essential needs\u00a0out of fear.<\/p>\n

Most healthy adults have little to fear from this Flu-like virus but those that are at-risk from the common flu are the same that are at serious risk from the Coronavirus, and for the same reason.\u00a0 The very, young, the very old, those with immune issues and those with respiratory issues are All at higher risk from the virus than the average person. This virus causes respiratory irritations that can quickly lead into very serious conditions like pneumonia and is most certainly a life threatening danger.<\/p>\n

People in these conditions have very good reasons to be concerned.\u00a0 There are many others in our community that are self-quarantining themselves out of fear, regardless of significant risk to themselves or those they live with.<\/p>\n

Many of these are the hardest to see in our community and have made themselves even harder to see out of fear of outside contact.\u00a0 Many or now reported to be running out of supplies and making due with what they have on-hand even if it is not up to the need in this trying time.<\/p>\n

If you have old, sickly, or disabled friends or neighbors you don\u2019t see often, check in if you can.\u00a0 At the front door – well back from the door [just to help relieve any fear they might have of getting too close to others.] A phone call might be less alarming to them.<\/p>\n

Mothers of young children are another group of people that go through supplies fast and have good reason to limit their contact with large groups.<\/p>\n

They might well need some supplies you can get for them and just leave at their door with a knock and then a fast retreat so they can get the stuff without fear of getting too close to you.<\/p>\n

We have a great community because we all pull together when things get tough.\u00a0 I believe some people are having it very tough out of fear of going outside. This is the kind of time we work together as a community to take care of our most fragile members of our community.<\/p>\n

This is also a great chance to\u00a0 simply say hi and see that everything looks OK.\u00a0 If not there are many agencies that are here to help in that regard and I will post a few that help in this way.<\/p>\n
