Our dear friend Pat Barron passed away on June 14,\u00a0<\/sup>2018, and our community has lost a shining star. \u00a0Pat was a dedicated leader in the fight against domestic violence in El Dorado County and beyond and the founder of Kacie’s Ride for Hope to End Domestic Violence.<\/p>\n

From 2006 until 2015 Pat and a dedicated crew of folks worked tirelessly to put on the Hope Valley bike run that raised over $200,000 to support local victims of domestic violence. In 2014, The Center renamed our shelter, \u201cKacie\u2019s House of Hope\u201d to honor Pat\u2019s sister Kacie and Pat\u2019s dedication to ending domestic violence.<\/p>\n

Pat was our brother in the fight against domestic violence and he and Sharon (who passed away in 2017) are dearly missed and will always be remembered in our hearts.<\/p>\n

A memorial will be held to celebrate Pat’s life at Green Valley Community Church. Please join us on\u00a0Friday August 3, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.<\/p>\n

Friends of Pat’s are also hosting the Pat Barron Memorial Run on\u00a0Saturday, August 18, 2018. The run starts at the Train Station Coffee Shop.<\/p>\n

The ride follows the Kacie’s Ride for Hope route through Hope Valley and ends at Bones Roadhouse (4430 Pleasant Valley Road, Placerville, CA 95667<\/a>).\u00a0 Kickstands up at\u00a09:00 am.<\/p>\n

Breakfast is available for purchase at the Train Station Coffee Shop prior to the run.<\/p>\n
