{"id":7254,"date":"2018-02-14T19:12:52","date_gmt":"2018-02-15T03:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newsmolo.com\/EDC\/2019\/?p=7254"},"modified":"2025-12-13T19:14:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-14T03:14:13","slug":"el-dorado-county-taxes-might-be-mailed-to-napa-county-says-assessor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.newsmolo.com\/EDC\/2019\/2018\/02\/14\/el-dorado-county-taxes-might-be-mailed-to-napa-county-says-assessor\/","title":{"rendered":"El Dorado County Taxes Might be Mailed to Napa County says Assessor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Carla Hass]<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(PLACERVILLE, CA) \u2013 The El Dorado County Assessor today discovered that a small number of the Business Property Statements (571-L) mailed last week to businesses in the County included a return envelope with a Napa County address.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe caught the printing vendor\u2019s mistake early and are taking steps to resolve the error and ensure that filed statements are properly processed,\u201d said County Assessor Karl Weiland. \u201cThe Napa County Assessor\u2019s office has agreed to forward to my office any El Dorado County statements they receive.\u201d In addition, Weiland is urging business owners to look closely at the return address envelope. If the address is for Napa County, the address should be corrected and mailed to:<br \/>\n<em><strong>El Dorado County Assessor<br \/>\nBusiness Division<br \/>\n360 Fair Lane<br \/>\nPlacerville CA 95667<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Every effort will be made to ensure that statements filed timely and using the wrong envelope are not charged with a late filing penalty. The County will be looking into other remedies in an effort to eliminate any misplaced statements that occur due to the vendor\u2019s error. Weiland noted that it appears that less than 500 statements have the wrong envelope.<\/p>\n<p>Business Property Statements must be postmarked by May 7th, 2018 to avoid the statutory 10% penalty.
