30th Annual El Dorado County Fair Open Wine Competition!<\/h2>\n

The 2018 El Dorado County Fair Open Wine Competition is just around the \u00a0corner! We invite you to enter your wines to be judged by thirty prestigious \u00a0experts from across the country within the media, trade hospitality, education and winemaking industries. This event is a wonderful way to get your wines noticed!<\/p>\n

Each panel consists of a judge from each industry: Educator (winemaker,\u00a0 enologist, professor \u2013\u00a0Looking for wine without flaws<\/em>), Media (print, blogs,\u00a0radio, TV \u2013\u00a0I want to talk about this wine<\/em>), Wine Sales (Restaurant, Retail,\u00a0etc. \u2013\u00a0I want to sell this wine<\/em>). The judges keep their individual score sheets\u00a0with their notes and receive the results the next day, so they can link their\u00a0notes to the wines they love and wish to purchase or praise.<\/p>\n

Back Room Gold Awards<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0are also unique to this competition. The 30+\u00a0 back\u00a0room staff who pour for the judges choose their favorite Red, White or\u00a0Zinfandel in a blind tasting\u2014your typical customers\u2014which makes this, in\u00a0effect, a People\u2019s Choice Award.<\/p>\n
