The exhibition displays 27 works of art, portraits, historic map and photographs, and other items of interest, from Wakamatsu farm.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Founded by Japanese colonists fleeing shogun-era violence, Wakamatsu is a unique part of El Dorado history. As the birthplace of the first Japanese-American has earned it special national status.
\nIncluded in the exhibition are rare Japanese woodblock prints from the period 1931 – 1957 that present contemplative scenes of farms, flowers, streetscapes, and views of Mt. Fuji. The works were lent by Charlie Downs and collected by Downs’s father, Dallas Downs, in the course of his deployment during the Korean War.<\/p>\n
