Blue Shield of California Foundation recognizes The Center for Violence-Free Relationships as a critical leader in California\u2019s domestic violence field<\/em><\/p>\n

EL DORADO COUNTY, CA – (August, 2016) – Blue Shield of California Foundation today announced a grant of $15,000 to The Center for Violence-Free Relationships to support its capacity to provide essential services and shelter for survivors of domestic violence and their families. These core operating funds offer the flexibility to respond to new demands and opportunities so that The Center for Violence-Free Relationships can continue to reach many of the most vulnerable Californians.<\/p>\n

\u201cDomestic violence can happen to anyone, and impacts everyone. Though we all have a role to play, it is organizations like The \u00a0Center that are there when women, children, men, and families need help the most,\u201d said Peter Long, Ph.D., president and CEO of Blue Shield of California Foundation. \u201cThe Center for Violence-Free Relationships is making our communities safer and healthier every single day, and we remain committed to ensuring that they \u2013 and the entire field – have the resources and adaptability to support survivors and bring us closer to ending domestic violence in California.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is wonderful when a donor such as Blue Shield of California Foundation understands and continues to support the needs nonprofits have for unrestricted funds,\u201d stated The Center\u2019s Executive Director Matt Huckabay. \u201cThese funds can be used to offset the expenses associated with maintaining an office so those in need can come to receive vital services.\u201d<\/p>\n

This unrestricted funding is part of a group of grants designed to strengthen and empower domestic violence service providers and enable them to adjust to unexpected changes and challenges.
