Placerville, CA \u2013 Retired corporate executive Chuck Smith has completed filing the necessary paperwork with El Dorado County elections officials to place his name on the November ballot for the EID Board of Directors in Division 1. \u00a0Smith has been serving the community as a STAR volunteer with the El Dorado County Sheriff\u2019s Office and the El Dorado County Sherriff\u2019s Posse.<\/p>\n
In a post-filing interview Smith said the he wanted to further serve our community by using his corporate management experience to help improve EID and protect our water from out of the area special interests.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile working in the corporate world I learned how to make businesses function better and become more successful,\u201d explained Smith, \u201cnow that I\u2019m retired, I want to give back to our community by helping improve the way we run EID\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy top two goals, if chosen by the ratepayers, will be to protect our water from out of county special interests and work to expand the precious water supply we all depend on,\u201d said Smith, \u201cI understand our governmental system and will work with our representatives in Washington and Sacramento to help EID receive funding for necessary improvement projects and breakthrough barriers imposed by out of touch bureaucrats\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me\u201d, said Smith, \u201cnothing is more important to our water security then protecting our water from Southern California developers, environmental extremists, and overzealous government regulators\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone knows that the corporate world does a better job at minimizing cost drivers,\u201d said Smith, \u201cI want to put my experience with reducing costs to work for EID to help keep our water and sewer rates from rising to high\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cFinally,\u201d said Smith, \u201cI want everyone to know that they can count on me to never vote for an unbalanced budget, wasteful policy, or refuse to meet with any individual or group wanting to discuss ways to improve EID\u201d.<\/p>\n
