According to the Placerville Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle hit the man in the 1800 block of Broadway Drive near Airport Road.<\/p>\n
Emergency crews rushed the pedestrian to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities did not release the name and age of the victim.<\/p>\n
As per reports, the vehicle, described as a dark sedan, initially stopped after the accident. However, the driver later sped away going east on Broadway Drive.<\/p>\n
Placerville police continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run. Investigators ask witnesses or anyone with relevant information to call (530) 642-5210.<\/p>\n
