Hass, El Dorado County Board of Supervisors)<\/pre>\n<p>PLACERVILLE, Calif. \u2014 The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors yesterday unanimously approved providing nearly $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grants to non-profit organizations to help recoup some of the losses incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe impact of COVID-19 on non-profits that provide critical services to our residents has been vast and long-lasting,\u201d said Board Chair Lori Parlin. \u201cThese grants act as an influx of money that would otherwise come from these organizations engaging in normal fundraising activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Organizations were required to submit an application stating the need for the grant funds, evidence that they suffered economic loss as a result of the pandemic and that they are a 501 (c) 3.<\/p>\n<p>The Board approved grants ranging from $2,000 to $252,000 to 24 local non-profits. The list of organizations and grant amounts can be found\u00a0<a tabindex=\"317\" href=\"https:\/\/eldorado.legistar.com\/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=5562300&amp;GUID=C08A0D37-4B18-430A-8703-7881F2D5CB96\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>he<\/strong><strong>re<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Board also voted unanimously to expend $2.1 million in ARPA grants to small businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to a robust interest among our small businesses to receive these grants to help them return to a pre-pandemic level, support their employees and families and give a boost to our economy,\u201d added Parlin<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&#8220;Chief Administrative Office and Planning and Building, Economic Development Division, recommending the Board: 1) Award twenty-four (24) Non-Profit Organization COVID-19 Economic Impact Grants to eligible recipients, in a cumulative amount of $1,978,931.59; 2) Approve use of Non-Profit Organization COVID-19 Economic Impact Grant agreement template; 3) Authorize the Chief Administrative Officer, or designee, to execute grant awards and all other documents necessary to award Economic Impact Grants; and 4) Direct staff to return to the Board with a proposed program that would make funding available to other non-profits and small businesses with the remaining $2,156,128.41 in ARPA funds the Board allocated for non-profit organizations.
