While gas prices in CA are soaring, Democrats continue to block Republican efforts to give everyday drivers relief at the gas pump. Instead of\u00a0suspending the $.51 gas tax, their \u201csolution\u201d is to give a $400 tax credit to everyone.<\/p>\n
This move is a shallow\u00a0attempt to protect their precious tax hikes. Instead of giving commuters six months of relief from out of control gas prices, they want to take credit for the \u201cfree\u201d money you get NEXT YEAR. Californians need relief\u00a0now, not a year from now!<\/p>\n
Not to mention, this tax rebate is completely out of touch with the people who need help the most. Their tax credit will give the same amount of money to a billionaire in Silicon Valley driving a Tesla as it will to the construction worker who has to commute for hours a day driving a diesel truck.<\/p>\n
