[KINGSTON, Jamaica]<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 One of reggae\u2019s most prominent voices\u00a0Jesse Royal\u00a0<\/strong>reveals a brand new video today for\u00a0\u201cDirty Money,<\/strong>\u201d from his 2022 Grammy-nominated\u00a0sophomore album\u00a0Royal<\/em><\/a><\/strong>. The Jamaican\u00a0 luminary is also back on the road to perform his hits from the acclaimed LP for the first time.<\/p>\n
\u201cDirty Money,\u201d featuring Ghanian artist\u00a0Stonebwoy<\/strong>, addresses greed and corruption in a flawed political system. Jesse co-produced the track with Sean Alaric (Koffee \u201cThrone\u201d, Teyana Taylor \u201cBad\u201d), who produced over half of the\u00a0Royal<\/em>\u00a0album.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe inspiration for \u2018Dirty Money\u2019 came from us questioning the system and how it operates. I remember asking myself \u2018Who judges the judge?\u2019 \u2018Dirty Money\u2019 which was co-written by my brother Vision Alexander was basically our reminder to the politicians that we are aware and no longer crippled by fear. Their day will come also. \u2018Not even Holy water, can clean your dirty money,\u2019\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Jesse states.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Upcoming Tour Dates<\/h6>\n
Jesse Royal returned to the stage in 2022. He will head to the\u00a0United Kingdom<\/strong>\u00a0in July for a mini run. In February, he performed at the inaugural staging of\u00a0Cali Vibes Festival<\/strong>\u00a0in Long Beach, CA and continued with a string of tour dates stretching across South Florida. On March 25, he will revisit the Golden State for the\u00a0Reggae Campout Festival\u00a0<\/strong>in Placerville, CA.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, April 3, 2022, he will venture to Las Vegas to attend the\u00a064th GRAMMY Award<\/strong>s. He is the youngest contender in the\u00a0Best Reggae Album<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>category, which includes\u00a0Soja, Spice, Sean Paul, Gramps Morgan<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Etana<\/strong>. This is Jesse Royal\u2019s first nomination.<\/p>\n

The singer, songwriter and producer expresses his gratitude.\u00a0\u201cIt is truly a humbling feeling. So many of my musical peers contributed to this album and for them to get recognition is the best part for me. If I was the only one on this ship it wouldn\u2019t feel as sweet as it does, can\u2019t spell community without unity.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
His\u00a0Royal<\/em>\u00a0LP, released in June 2021, follows his\u00a0U.S. Billboard Reggae Album<\/strong>\u00a0chart-topping 2017 debut\u00a0Lily of Da Valley<\/strong><\/em>. Both albums were released via\u00a0Easy Star Records<\/strong>. Other collaborators on\u00a0Royal\u00a0<\/em>include featured artists like\u00a0Vybz Kartel, Protoje, Kumar, Samory I\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Runkus<\/strong>\u00a0and producers\u00a0Natural High, Dretegs, iotosh, Yared Lee, Romario Bennett<\/strong>\u00a0(also known as Runkus) and\u00a0Wayne Thompson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
