Newsom made another announcement claiming that we have entered the \u2018next phase\u2019 of the pandemic and let a number of Executive Orders expire. Yet he still refuses to end the State of Emergency that has been in place for nearly 2 years. This is a blatant violation of the Emergency Services Act, which requires him to terminate the emergency at the &#8216;earliest possible date that conditions warrant.&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cCalifornia also continues to be a national outlier on masks in schools, despite school districts across the state taking action to make masks optional.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cSince Gov. Newsom refuses to end the emergency as the law requires, on March 15 the Legislature must act to cut off his emergency powers and end this era of one-man rule once and for all.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Assemblyman Kevin Kiley represents the 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Assembly District, which includes the Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado County communities of Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Loomis, Orangevale, Penryn, Rocklin, Roseville, and Sheridan.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>State of Emergency that has been in place for nearly 2 years.
