From fashion, to street art, to the Olympic Games, skateboarding has become an influential fixture in pop culture worldwide. But at its core, it remains a fast-paced, gritty, DIY, risk-laden sport with its roots in rebellion. Arts and Culture El Dorado has teamed up with Motherlode Board Supply Co. and artist Nate Reifke to bring you a visual homage to skateboard culture and its centrality to El Dorado County\u2019s passion for adventure sports.<\/p>\n
Bad Apples: Skateboarding and the Misfit Culture of EDC<\/em>\u00a0is a wide-ranging exhibition featuring graphic design, painting, DIY repurposing, photography, and video installation \u2013 all recognizing the artistry in the act of skateboarding itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Arts and Culture El Dorado is teaming up with Motherlode Board Supply Co and artist Nate Reifke to fill Confidence Firehouse Gallery with the best of EDC skate culture. We’re looking for photos and videos of you doing your thing, whether you were skating back in the day or skating yesterday.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Submit your sketches, photos, paintings, skateboards… they can be nostalgic or brand new! The goal of\u00a0Bad Apples<\/em>\u00a0is to have a mix of old school artists as well as newer enthusiasts submit their art or memorabilia. Recent photos and videos of local skaters is a bonus!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
