At the December El Dorado Hills Community Services District Board of Directors\u2019 meeting, Walk with Austin presented the CSD with a $34,000 check toward the construction of an all-abilities playground at the future Bass Lake Regional Park. The funds were raised from the recent Walk with Austin TRYathlon event in which kids with disabilities competed in an adaptive swim\/bike\/run or roll event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe event was so successful,\u201d Walk with Austin founder Holly Reininger said. \u201cWe only had 20 participants but you can see the community\u2019s love for this concept through what we raised that day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reininger expressed gratitude for the CSD\u2019s role in organizing the competition at which more than 70 volunteers were on hand at the community park and pool. \u201cHow many people you had there to help, it was incredible,\u201d she said. \u201cEverything went so smoothly and all the parents were thrilled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Future [&#8230;] <a href=\"https:\/\/www.villagelife.com\/news\/walk-with-austin-making-an-all-abilities-playground-a-reality\/\">READ MORE<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Walk with Austin has pledged to raise $250,000 by the time the playground\u2019s construction breaks ground.
