[El Dorado County Fair Association]<\/pre>\n
<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Placerville, CA<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Delectable, sweet, delicious \u2013 some of the words used to describe the flavor of fresh Dungeness crab. The staff at El Dorado County Fair couldn\u2019t agree more, citing the Annual Crab & Chowder Gala as one of their favorite events.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
2021 will mark the 16th year the Fair Association has hosted the gala, and it has evolved into a not-to-miss annual event for many. \u201cIn the early years we were excited to sell 300 tickets,\u201d cited Jody Gray, Fair CEO. \u201cEven in 2020, when we staged a drive-thru event, we sold out.\u201d The fair limits dine-in tickets to 550, which allows room for dining, dancing and shopping.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
The fair staff is extremely grateful to many local businesses who support the event with awesome donations for the silent auction and raffle. \u201cPeople love shopping at this event,\u201d shares Gray. \u201cIt\u2019s a great way to support a non-profit organization as well as get some great deals.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
In addition to fresh Dungeness crab, guests are served freshly prepared green salad, bread, homemade clam chowder and pasta. A full, no-host bar has beer, wine and mixed drinks available for purchase, as well as a \u201cwine bar,\u201d where diners may purchase wine bottles. Due to ABC regulations, no outside alcohol is allowed.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
Gala-goers are treated to tunes played by Dream & The Dreamer, our crab feed \u201cregular\u201d band. After dinner, the lights go down and the dancing begins.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
Tickets may be purchased for dine-in and drive-thru in the fair office or online at\u00a0eldoradocountyfair.org<\/a>. Drive-thru dinners (pasta not included) will be picked up in front of the new gate house on Placerville Drive between 3:30-5:30pm; doors for dine-in open at 5:30pm. Dine-in tickets are $75 per person and Drive-thru tickets are $70 per person. A sponsored table for 8 may be purchased for $700. Proceeds from this event benefit the El Dorado County Fair Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Drive-thru and dine-in tickets are not interchangeable.\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
