Placer County had an increase of 12.9% in housing units \u2014 the second highest in the state \u2014 for a 16.2% increase in population. And Yolo County had a 7.7% population increase for a 6.8% housing unit increase.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, El Dorado County&#8217;s population grew 5.6% over the span of 10 years, while its housing units increased by 6%.<\/p>\n<p>There has been new construction, especially in Placer and Sacramento counties, he said. But it is in smaller counties such as in El Dorado that construction can happen more quickly.
