Delta variants of the COVID-19 virus have been identified in at least two counties in the Sacramento region. According to health experts, delta variants are far more contagious than strains that have been forced to shut down the entire state for most of the past year. KCRA 3 confirmed to El Dorado County authorities on June 2 that someone in Diamond Springs tested positive for the delta mutant.
