Please join us on\u00a0Thursday, June 18\u00a0<\/strong>from\u00a012:30 \u2013 5:30 p.m<\/strong>.\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0Placerville Fairgrounds Community Blood Drive\u00a0<\/strong>located at\u00a0100 Placerville Drive, Placerville, CA 95667.\u00a0<\/strong>The blood drive will be held in the Organ Room. Enter the Fairgrounds from Placerville Drive and park near the Forni Building.<\/p>\n

To comply with social distancing practices, walk-ins may be accommodated if space permits, but appointments are encouraged\u00a0and we are asking all of our donors to\u00a0please schedule an appointment\u00a0<\/strong>–<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Click here for an appointment<\/a><\/p>\n

ATTENTION BLOOD DONORS.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Vitalant requires all donors to wear face coverings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Given limited supplies, Vitalant is unable to provide masks to every donor at this time. However, in order to donate blood, donors will be required to bring their own cloth-based face covering.<\/p>\n

COVID-19 Antibody Testing<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting June 1, your\u00a0blood donation<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0delivers\u00a0DOUBLE<\/strong>\u00a0the good when you help to save lives\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0learn your COVID-19 antibody status<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0which is especially important given the critical shortage of blood as hospitals have increased surgeries and other procedures.<\/p>\n

As the pandemic has unfolded, and for those who fell ill with symptoms from COVID-19, but were not able to be tested, this new information could be useful to you as you move forward with work, school and daily activities.\u00a0Antibody tests are used to tell if someone had a past infection with SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. This testing, however, does not indicate whether the antibodies neutralize the virus and protect against reinfection.<\/strong><\/p>\n
